Is a special permit granted by the United States to authorize the entry of certain migrants for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit. This program applies to Cubans, Venezuelans, Nicaraguans and Haitians who have relatives in the United States who can sponsor them.
Recipients of humanitarian parole can apply for a work permit and a social security number upon arriving in the United States. They can also adjust their status to permanent residents after one year of stay in the country.
To apply for humanitarian parole, the sponsor must send Form I-131, Form I-134, and evidence of family relationship to the beneficiary to the USCIS address indicated in the instructions for Form I-1311. The process can take several months and there is no guarantee of approval. If the application is approved, the beneficiary will receive a notification by mail and will be able to travel to the United States with the parole document.
